A Newark woman is facing charges after deputies say she gave them a fake name to avoid arrest.
Deputies arrested 33-year-old Angelica M. Alicea of Hope Avenue on Monday, accusing her of obstruction and criminal impersonation. Investigators say Alicea used a false identity during a traffic stop in July to hide an active warrant out of Canandaigua.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office issued an arrest warrant following the July 12 incident in Lyons. Alicea was taken to the Wayne County Jail, where she was held ahead of a scheduled arraignment later that evening.
The charges include obstruction of governmental administration in the second degree and criminal impersonation in the second degree.
