State Senator Lea Webb, who represents Tompkins and surrounding counties, is facing foreclosure on her Binghamton-area home after falling behind on mortgage payments, according to The Ithaca Voice.
PHH Mortgage filed a lawsuit in October, citing about $7,700 in missed payments. Webb blamed recent financial strain and a family medical crisis. She bought the $373,000 home last year—twice the county’s median price—and says she’s working to resolve the issue.
Webb called her situation a reflection of the broader affordability crisis in her district.
