The Finger Lakes SPCA in Bath has temporarily stopped accepting cats due to a surge in intakes, according to WENY News.
After rescuing 25 cats in the village, the shelter is housing nearly double its ideal capacity — about 120 cats instead of the usual 60–70. Staff are overwhelmed, and even public bathrooms are being used for housing.
The SPCA is asking for donations and directing people needing to surrender cats to call for help.
