Two high school students from South Seneca turned a day at the Lodi Rod & Gun Club into a powerful fundraiser for breast cancer patients across the Finger Lakes.
Alyssa Minges and Kloe Rappleye, both students at South Seneca High School, organized the “Busting Birds for Boobies 2025” shoot to benefit Embrace Your Sisters, a nonprofit that provides emergency financial help to people undergoing breast cancer treatment.
The event brought together shooters, sponsors, students, volunteers, and families — all connected by the shared experience of knowing someone impacted by breast cancer. In addition to the clay shoot, there were raffle baskets and a 50/50 drawing to boost the total raised.
The students presented more than $9,000 to Embrace Your Sisters after the event.
EYS serves 13 counties in the Finger Lakes region and is run entirely by volunteers. The group helps cover daily expenses for people in treatment, like housing, transportation, and other critical bills.
