New York’s Gaming Facility Location Board has recommended all three proposed casinos in New York City for licenses, advancing massive projects in Queens, the Bronx, and near Citi Field, according to State of Politics.
The bids from Resorts World, Bally’s, and Steve Cohen’s Metropolitan Park now head to the state Gaming Commission for final review. Despite protests, the board cited strong tax revenue and job projections—estimating $7 billion in tax income by 2036.
Gov. Hochul praised the move, saying the projects will boost the MTA and create tens of thousands of union jobs. Final license decisions are due by Dec. 31.
