A Fairport man is facing DWI charges after crashing his car into a telephone pole in Wolcott early Sunday morning.
Deputies say 33-year-old Elias J. Flowers drove off the road around 2 a.m. and struck the pole in a single-vehicle crash. When deputies arrived, they say Flowers showed signs of intoxication and failed multiple field sobriety tests.
A chemical breath test later revealed his blood alcohol content was 0.12%, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. Flowers was charged with driving while intoxicated and moving from a lane unsafely.
He was released with traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in Wolcott Town Court at a later date.
