Man arrested after welfare check in Lyons

Deputies arrested a Lyons man Friday night after responding to a domestic incident at an apartment on Phelps Street.

David R. Jones, 32, is charged with second-degree harassment and resisting arrest. Deputies say he stomped and kicked a woman during an argument, then fought with officers when they tried to take him into custody.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Jones began kicking at deputies during the arrest. He was taken to the Wayne County Jail and is scheduled to appear in CAP Court on Saturday morning.

The New York State Police assisted at the scene.
