A Nevada driver was arrested in Penn Yan after nearly hitting a police vehicle and showing signs of intoxication.
Keith D. Newell, 57, was pulled over just after midnight on November 22. Police say he was driving without headlights on Main Street. He then swerved into oncoming traffic and almost struck a Penn Yan Police car.
Newell was given field sobriety tests, which he failed. He was taken to Yates County Jail and refused a chemical test.
Newell is charged with DWI, failure to keep right, unsafe lane change, and inadequate lights.
