The Canandaigua Knights hit the ice in purple jerseys Saturday for their second annual Hockey Fights Cancer game, raising over $50,000 for cancer charities, according to 13WHAM.
The benefit game united players, families, and the community at large to support those impacted by cancer. Proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society and local support groups to fund research, education, and advocacy.
Coach Ethan Poole said the event brings vital help to those in need.
