Downtown Canandaigua will showcase the creativity of local teens next month as Finger Lakes Community College and the Ontario County Arts Council team up to host the annual Victor and Canandaigua High School Art Exhibition.
The exhibit opens Friday, December 5, at ArtSpace36 and the adjoining Gallery 32, both located at 36 S. Main St. A public reception for the student artists and their families will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on opening night. Admission is free.
This year’s show features about 30 students from grades 9 through 12. Their artwork will remain on display through December 21, giving the community a chance to view a variety of student-created pieces in a professional gallery setting.
ArtSpace36 is operated by FLCC’s visual arts program, while Gallery 32 is managed by the Ontario County Arts Council. The joint effort provides young artists with early exposure to the world of public exhibitions and community recognition.
