A record-breaking year at the Smith Center for the Arts ended with over $1.2 million in revenue — the most in its 131-year history, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
Leaders shared the milestone during last week’s State of the Smith event in Geneva, revealing a 50% jump over 2023 earnings. Ticket and concession sales alone rose 40%. At the same time, the nonprofit cut general costs by 5%.
The event also honored Beginnings Credit Union for sponsoring the new Smith Family Performance series, which kicks off Dec. 12 with A Christmas Carol. New board officers were elected, and the Smith encouraged the public to support the arts through memberships and donations.
