Geneva man charged with felony DWI in Junius

A Geneva man was arrested early Sunday morning after deputies say he was speeding and failed to stay in his lane in the Town of Junius.

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson says 30-year-old Jonathon Malonado Santiago was pulled over just after midnight on November 23. Deputies said he appeared intoxicated and failed a series of field sobriety tests.

A breath test later showed his blood alcohol level was 0.17%, more than twice the legal limit. Malonado Santiago was also driving with a suspended license, leading to a felony charge of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree. He faces additional traffic violations, including driving while intoxicated.

Deputies brought him to the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center for processing. He was released with appearance tickets and is due back in court at a later date.
