Williamson man charged with DWI after Sodus crash

A 45-year-old man from Williamson faces drunk driving charges after crashing his vehicle in the Town of Sodus, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrested Richard Segarra after responding to a single-vehicle crash on November 21 around 9 p.m. An investigation at the scene showed Segarra had been driving while intoxicated.

He was taken to the sheriff’s office, where a chemical test revealed his blood alcohol content was 0.17% — more than twice the legal limit.

Segarra was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI (BAC of 0.08% or higher), and other traffic violations.

He was released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Sodus Town Court on December 7 at 10 a.m..
