A man died Thursday afternoon after he was pinned between a snowplow and a fence in the Ontario County town of Richmond, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies say Michael Seager, 60, of Swaine, was helping attach a snowplow to a pickup truck on White Road when the truck rolled and trapped him. The vehicle operator’s foot had slipped off the brake, causing the truck to move, investigators said.
First responders used a tractor to help free Seager. Richmond fire crews and ambulance staff also worked to remove him from the snowplow. Paramedics tried to save his life on the way to FF Thompson Hospital, but he was later pronounced dead.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation.
