The Lansing Town Board voted unanimously to withdraw a proposed land-use moratorium that had sparked weeks of heated debate, according to The Ithaca Voice.
The moratorium would’ve paused new development for a year during a zoning rewrite—but critics said it unfairly targeted TeraWulf’s planned AI data center at the old Cayuga power plant. The company threatened legal action, and some board members reversed earlier positions without comment.
Public reactions were divided, and tensions flared during the meeting. The town may revisit the idea in the future.
