Cornell men’s basketball outlasted Colgate 95-94 in a double-overtime classic Thursday night at Newman Arena, powered by 27 points from Cooper Noard and several clutch plays in the final moments. The Big Red improved to 3-2 with the win, while the Raiders dropped to 2-4.

Cornell forced overtime when Noard drilled a contested 3-pointer with five seconds left in regulation to knot the score at 75. The teams traded momentum through two extra periods, and Colgate appeared to gain control late in the second OT after a transition layup put the visitors ahead 94-91 with 15 seconds remaining. Cornell immediately responded as Adam Hinton scored in the lane to make it a one-point game. After a missed Raider free throw, Noard was fouled with 2.5 seconds left and converted two of three attempts, giving Cornell the lead it needed. Colgate’s last-second heave bounced off the rim at the horn.
Hinton totaled 15 points, three assists, and two steals, while Jake Fiegen provided a major lift in his season debut with 14 points and eight rebounds. Kaspar Sepp added 10 points, and Josh Baldwin delivered seven points, five boards, and three blocks off the bench. Cornell shot 44 percent from the field, hit 11 triples, and finished 24-for-30 at the line.
Colgate was led by 24 points from Jalen Cox and 17 from Andrew Alekseyenko, outscoring Cornell 48-38 in the paint but unable to counter the Big Red’s late-game execution.
Cornell will close its homestand on Wednesday, November 26 against Misericordia. Tipoff is set for noon.
