Schumer pushes parks funding at Saratoga site

Sen. Chuck Schumer called for renewed federal funding for national parks during a visit to Saratoga National Historic Park, according to Spectrum News.

The Legacy Restoration Fund, which recently expired, had funded over $6 million in upgrades to the battlefield site. Schumer says $23 billion in park maintenance remains nationwide, including $14 million in Saratoga alone.

He’s backing the America the Beautiful Act, a proposal to revive the fund through 2033 at $2 billion a year, just ahead of the U.S. 250th anniversary.
