Visitors heading to Seneca Falls this December can step back in time with a rare look inside some of the town’s most storied homes.
As part of the “It’s A Wonderful Life” Festival, the Seneca Falls Historical Society will open the doors of the late 19th-century Becker Mansion and several other historic properties along Cayuga Street. The event runs Thursday, December 11 through Sunday, December 14.
The Becker Mansion—home of the Historical Society—will be open Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Last tours begin one hour before closing. The Queen Anne-style home features three floors of exhibits detailing how the Becker family lived when they moved in back in 1891, as well as displays on the broader history of Seneca Falls.
On Sunday, December 14, the society will host the “It’s A Wonderful Life Historic Homes Tour” from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $20 for SFHS members and $25 for nonmembers and include entry to the first floor of the Becker Mansion and five additional Cayuga Street homes. Each ticket includes a brochure with locations and background on each house.
