Finger Lakes Community College is giving students—and the public—a chance to study in Sicily next summer through a new five-week program that blends academics with hands-on travel.
The program runs May 29 to July 4 in Syracuse, Sicily, and is open to current students, alumni, and community members. FLCC is partnering with the MADE School of Arts and Sciences, a local institution that offers courses ranging from volcanology to Roman art.
Participants will take one FLCC course in either art history or theatre history, and choose one of nine offerings from MADE. For viticulture students, there’s also the option of enrolling in a vineyard technology practicum.
Each week includes excursions to historic sites that tie directly into the coursework—think Greek and Roman ruins, temples, and ancient amphitheaters.
The estimated cost is $5,608, not including airfare, meals, or personal expenses. The deadline to apply is February 15.
