Deputies arrested a Lyons man after he allegedly forced his way into a home and tried to stop the resident from calling for help.
Henry L. Mckenzie, 35, was taken into custody on Saturday following an early-morning incident on Ross Road. According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Mckenzie went to the residence looking for someone, kicked in the door, and took the homeowner’s cell phone—preventing them from calling 911.
Mckenzie fled before deputies arrived but was located and arrested later that day. He was charged with burglary in the second degree and two counts of criminal mischief. He was transported to the Wayne County Jail to await arraignment.
