Seneca County Sheriff’s Office celebrates promotions and new hires

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office welcomed two new correction officers and celebrated a well-earned promotion during a ceremony held Thursday at the Law Enforcement Center in Romulus.

Investigator James Altemari was promoted to the rank of Investigator Sergeant. Sheriff Timothy J. Thompson Jr. led the swearing-in ceremony alongside Undersheriff Melinda Marquart, joined by family, friends, and fellow officers.

Two new correction officers — Maria Gleason and Rachel Rennie — officially joined the department. Both were sworn in during the ceremony and will begin their service in the county’s correctional division.

“These individuals represent the best of what we stand for,” said Sheriff Thompson. “We look forward to their contributions and leadership as they step into their new roles.”

The department shared the announcement publicly Friday and highlighted the ongoing commitment to professional growth and public service within the ranks.
