Cayuga County’s Republican Party chair is already recruiting candidates for the 2027 elections — and he’s not ruling out challenging current GOP lawmakers, according to The Auburn Citizen.
Chairman Nate VeVone criticized the county Legislature’s recent performance, calling out both Democrats and Republicans. He says the party needs stronger voices and is actively searching for replacements, including for seats held by fellow Republicans.
Local lawmakers won’t be up for reelection for two more years, but the push for change is already underway.
