Seneca Falls woman charged with food stamp fraud

A local woman is facing criminal charges after allegedly receiving more than $1,000 in food stamp benefits she wasn’t entitled to.

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that 35-year-old Jessica D. Ravagno was arrested on October 29 and charged with Misuse of Food Stamps. Investigators allege that Ravagno failed to report all of her household income, which resulted in her receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits she didn’t qualify for.

Following her arrest, Ravagno was processed at the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center and later released on an appearance ticket. She is scheduled to appear in Waterloo Town Court sometime in November to answer the charge.

Authorities have not released additional details about the case.
