Police arrest two after Cliff Street burglary attempt

Two people were arrested Thursday morning after officers responded to a reported burglary in progress on Cliff Street in Ithaca.

Police say the property owner spotted the suspects on a security camera around 10:45 a.m. and called for help. When officers arrived, the suspects tried to run.

One person was caught nearby. The second took off into a wooded area but was tracked down with help from a drone provided by the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office. That suspect also had metal knuckles, according to police.

Allison Pratt of Ithaca was charged with criminal trespass, a misdemeanor, and released with a court appearance ticket.

Juan Breton of Ithaca faces multiple charges, including criminal trespass, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, and felony possession of a weapon. A judge remanded him to the Tompkins County Jail.
