Deputies: Woman bit victim, violating court order in Hopewell

A woman was arrested early Friday morning after allegedly biting her boyfriend in violation of a court-issued order of protection.

Deputies with the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office responded around 2:00 a.m. on October 31 to a report of a family disturbance at Patty’s Lodge, Room 23, in the Town of Hopewell.

Following an on-scene investigation, deputies arrested 40-year-old Chuncey I. Ward. Authorities say Ward knowingly violated an active “Refrain from” Order of Protection by engaging in physical contact with the protected individual, who was identified as her boyfriend.

Deputies say Ward bit the man during the incident.

She was taken into custody and transported to the Ontario County Jail for centralized arraignment. She will appear in Hopewell Town Court at a later date to face charges of second-degree criminal contempt.

The case was investigated by Deputy Lowry and Deputy Bodine.
