Hornell rent prices tick up slightly

Renters in Hornell are paying a bit more than last year, with the median apartment listing hitting $1,600 in September — up 2% from 2023, according to Zumper data via the USA TODAY Network.

One-bedroom units climbed to $1,317, while two-bedrooms averaged $1,550 — a small drop from last year but up from August. Despite the increase, rents in Hornell remain 54% below the state median and 16% below the national average.

Out of nearly 3,800 listings, just 28 are subsidized, and new construction is factored into the data.
