The Town of Canandaigua officially cut the ribbon this week on a brand-new set of pickleball courts at Outhouse Park, adding to the town’s growing lineup of community recreation spaces.
Local officials, state representatives, and members of the Ontario County Chamber of Commerce gathered Thursday to celebrate the opening — and even squeezed in a quick match before the rain hit.
“These new courts are a wonderful example of how our community continues to come together,” said Town Supervisor Jared Simpson. He said the project reflects the town’s focus on health, connection, and expanding recreation options for everyone.
The courts were built in-house by the Town Highway Department, saving taxpayers money while delivering high-quality results, according to the release.
Parks & Recreation Director Greg Reynolds said the addition is part of a broader push to improve town parks and increase opportunities for fitness and community engagement.
The pickleball courts, along with all town parks, are free to use and open daily from dawn to dusk.
