A rollover crash at a busy intersection in Ontario County sent two drivers to the hospital Tuesday afternoon, but no serious injuries were reported.
The three-car collision happened around 1:55 p.m. on October 14 at the intersection of State Route 5 and 20 and Sutton Road in the Town of Seneca. According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, the crash began when a vehicle driven by Jordean N. Baglio, 28, of Seneca Falls, struck the rear of another vehicle.
That second vehicle, operated by William T. Vervoordeldonk, 51, of Geneva, was pushed into oncoming traffic and collided with a third vehicle driven by Melanie L. Wickham, 65, of Stanley. Wickham’s car veered off the road and rolled over into a nearby yard.
Emergency responders from Seneca Castle Fire Department, Stanley Fire, Hall Fire, Finger Lakes Ambulance, and Gorham Ambulance were on the scene quickly. Baglio and one other driver were taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Baglio was issued a citation for following too closely, deputies said. The crash remains under investigation by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from New York State Police.
