Rollover crash on 5&20 sends two to hospital in Seneca

A three-car crash in Seneca Tuesday afternoon ended with one vehicle flipped in a front yard and two drivers taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Deputies say no serious injuries were reported.

The crash happened just before 2 p.m. near the intersection of Route 5 and 20 and Sutton Road. According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, 28-year-old Jordean Baglio of Seneca Falls rear-ended a vehicle driven by 51-year-old William Vervoordeldonk of Geneva.

The impact pushed Vervoordeldonk’s vehicle into oncoming traffic, where it hit another car driven by 65-year-old Melanie Wickham of Stanley. Wickham’s car then left the road and rolled over into a yard.

Baglio was ticketed for following too closely.

Crews from Seneca Castle Fire, Stanley Fire, Hall Fire, Finger Lakes Ambulance, and Gorham Ambulance responded to the scene. Two drivers were taken to the hospital by ambulance as a precaution.

The investigation was handled by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office with help from state police.
