A 69-year-old Victory woman has been arrested in connection with two property damage investigations that took place earlier this summer in the Village of Weedsport and the Town of Victory.
According to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, Linda M. Murphy was taken into custody on September 29 following the execution of arrest warrants for criminal tampering in the third degree and criminal mischief in the fourth degree, both misdemeanors.
The charges stem from an incident reported around 12:24 a.m. on August 23, when deputies responded to a Weedsport business for a report of damaged property. The suspect fled before officers arrived. A short time later, deputies were called to a disturbance involving Murphy in Victory. Further investigation connected Murphy to property damage at both locations.
Murphy was processed and transported to the Cayuga County Jail, where she was arraigned the next morning in CAP Court. She is scheduled to appear in both the Village of Weedsport and Town of Victory courts at a later date.
