A Cayuga County man is facing multiple charges after deputies say he attacked a woman and damaged property during a domestic incident — all while two children were present.
According to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, 33-year-old Timothy K. Hoisington, of Sterling, was arrested on October 5 following an investigation into a late-night disturbance the day before.
Deputies responded to a home in the Town of Sterling around 11:46 p.m. on October 4 after a report of violence. Victims told deputies Hoisington was intoxicated and physically aggressive. He allegedly grabbed a female victim by the neck while chasing her, applying pressure to her throat — all in front of two children under the age of 16.
Investigators say Hoisington also damaged property in the home, including a television and microwave that didn’t belong to him.
He was charged with:
- Two counts of endangering the welfare of a child
- Criminal obstruction of breathing
- Criminal mischief in the 4th degree
All charges are misdemeanors.
Hoisington was arraigned at CAP court, where bail was set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond. He appeared in Sterling Town Court on October 8.
