Sodus couple charged with assault, child endangerment

Two people in Sodus were arrested this week following an investigation into alleged child abuse.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says Brandy Michels, 28, and Dustin Wiemer, 30, were taken into custody Tuesday after a minor in their care was found with multiple head bruises and a healing burn on her ankle.

Deputies say the injuries were discovered during a domestic incident investigation that began June 27.

Both Michels and Wiemer face charges of assault in the second degree and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. They were taken to the Wayne County Jail and are scheduled to appear in CAP Court.

The investigation was led by Detective R. Harkins and Deputy L. Osipovitch.
