Monroe Community College is investing over $3 million into its nationally recognized optical systems technology program, according to WHAM.
The funding will support the new 110,000-square-foot Sydor Optics Advanced Technology Center, set to open next fall, offering hands-on training in optics, renewable energy, and precision tooling. The project honors a major donation from Sydor Optics.
Leaders say the investment comes as demand for skilled optics technicians grows, especially in Rochester’s booming optics industry.
