Police arrested a man Thursday evening after a complaint about unwanted messages led to a deeper look at his online activity.
Charles F. Orego Jr., 28, of Seneca Falls, was taken into custody around 6:19 p.m. for violating a duly served order of protection.
According to the Waterloo Police Department, the arrest followed a report from a protected individual who said they were receiving unwanted messages. Officers determined Orego had been contacting the person using various social media accounts, despite the order being in place.
Orego was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge in court.
