The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office will continue its presence at Romulus Central School, following the renewal of the School Resource Officer (SRO) agreement.
The updated agreement was approved by both the Seneca County Board of Supervisors and the Romulus School Board, ensuring that a Sheriff’s Deputy will remain embedded in the school to support safety, build trust with students, and foster open communication.
“The School Resource Officer is a critical component of school safety,” said Sheriff Timothy Thompson Jr. “We are very proud of the great work that our School Resource Officers do and appreciate their dedication to our local schools.”
Sheriff Thompson also thanked county and school officials for their continued support of the program, which plays a key role in maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment.
The SRO not only responds to emergencies, but also works closely with staff and families to build relationships and prevent problems before they start.
