Deputies arrested an Arcadia man Sunday night after he allegedly violated a court order and resisted arrest during the investigation.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, 26-year-old Johnathon H. Deroo was taken into custody around 10 p.m. on Sept. 28 on Chapel Street in the Town of Arcadia.

Deputies say Deroo violated a full stay-away order of protection involving the victim. When officers attempted to arrest him, he resisted.

He was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and resisting arrest. Deroo was taken to the Wayne County Jail and held for centralized arraignment the next morning.

He’s scheduled to appear in Arcadia Town Court at a later date.
