‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ Festival returns to Seneca Falls in December

The town that inspired It’s a Wonderful Life is getting ready to welcome thousands of visitors this December.

Seneca Falls will host the 2025 It’s a Wonderful Life Festival from December 12–14, celebrating the timeless themes of family, hope, and second chances in what many believe to be the real-life Bedford Falls.

The annual event includes fan-favorite traditions like a tree-lighting ceremony, Mrs. Martini’s pasta dinner, horse-drawn wagon rides, and a parade filled with costumed characters. One of the biggest draws is the interactive film screening and the It’s a Wonderful Run 5K, which brings more than 5,000 runners through festively decorated neighborhoods.

The It’s a Wonderful Life Museum will also host memorabilia, special exhibits, and appearances by cast members, crew, and families connected to the movie.

New this year: Bedford Falls meets board game night

Organizers are introducing a new addition for 2025—It’s a Wonderful Life-Opoly, a custom board game featuring film stills, characters, and classic Bedford Falls locations. The game is available for preorder now and will be sold during the festival.

Festival president Haidee Oropallo said the weekend celebrates “all the things that make life truly wonderful: family, friendship, generosity, and resilience.”

“Whether you’ve joined us before or are planning your first visit,” she said, “we invite you to experience the magic of Bedford Falls this December.”
