Old TVs, laptops, and cell phones piling up? You can recycle them for free this weekend in Big Flats.
State Senator Tom O’Mara, Assemblyman Chris Friend, and Assemblyman Phil Palmesano are teaming up with Sunnking to host a free electronics recycling event on Saturday, Sept. 27. The drop-off runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Big Flats Parking Lot at 271 County Route 64.
The event is open to all area residents, but online pre-registration is required at sunnking.com/events. The website also includes a list of what’s accepted.
Items that can be recycled include:
- Computers and monitors (both flat screen and CRT)
- Laptops and printers
- TVs, video game consoles, and cell phones
- Fax machines, copiers, and scanners
- Networking gear and digital cameras
In a joint statement, O’Mara, Friend, and Palmesano said they hope as many people as possible will take part to help reduce electronic waste and protect the environment.
