Community Broadband Networks is booming, winning millions in grants to expand affordable internet across New York and beyond, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
The Geneva-based company recently secured a $121 million award—plus a $40 million match—to bring fiber and wireless internet to thousands of underserved locations, including parts of the Finger Lakes, Hudson Valley, and the Shinnecock Reservation. It follows major projects in cities like Syracuse and Rochester.
CBN has grown from 3 to 40 employees since 2019 and plans to double that in 2026, focusing on local hiring and lifetime low-cost plans.
