A Syracuse man will spend seven years in prison after pleading guilty to selling cocaine and illegally possessing a loaded gun in Auburn.
Romello Gallman, 29, admitted to both crimes stemming from a January incident at a residence in the city. Prosecutors say he knowingly sold cocaine and was carrying a loaded firearm at the time.
Gallman was sentenced this week in Cayuga County Court to 7 years behind bars, followed by 5 years of post-release supervision. Judge Thomas G. Leone handed down the sentence.
The charges include second-degree criminal possession of a weapon — a Class C armed violent felony — and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a Class B felony.
Members of the Auburn Police Department and the Finger Lakes Drug Task Force handled the investigation. The case was prosecuted by Cayuga County District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci.
