Bath man charged after domestic incident at local hotel

Police arrested a Bath man Saturday following a violent domestic incident inside a hotel room where a child was also present.

Officers were called to the Finger Lakes Inn and Suites on West Morris Street around 4:10 p.m. on September 13. According to Bath Police, 21-year-old Nicholas Harrison was found outside the hotel alongside witnesses who had intervened in the incident.

Investigators say Harrison had allegedly strangled the victim and prevented her from escaping the room. A four-year-old child was inside during the assault, and witnesses reported hearing both the woman and the child screaming. Two bystanders entered the room and pulled Harrison off the victim.

The child was not physically harmed.

Harrison was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries he reportedly sustained when witnesses separated him from the victim. He was then taken to the Steuben County Jail for arraignment.

He faces multiple charges, including:

  • Two counts of Criminal Contempt 2nd (A Misdemeanor)
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A Misdemeanor)
  • Strangulation (Class D Felony)
  • Unlawful Imprisonment (Class E Felony)
  • Aggravated Family Offense (Class E Felony)

Police noted that Harrison was previously arrested on similar charges in May.
