Cornell women’s soccer locked down one of the region’s top attacks Sunday, playing Binghamton to a 0-0 draw at Berman Field. The Big Red (2-2-4) earned its third shutout of the season while holding the Bearcats (5-1-2) without a single shot on goal.

Anchored by seniors Gaby Gonzalez and Izzy Scott and junior Kayla Ristianto, Cornell’s back line stayed firm all afternoon. Freshman goalkeeper Samantha Qureshey collected her third clean sheet and extended her shutout streak to more than 110 minutes. She also became just the fifth freshman in program history to notch at least three shutouts in a season.
The Big Red controlled much of the play offensively, outshooting Binghamton 15-7 and holding a 7-0 advantage in shots on goal. Senior Tanum Nelson and Izzy Scott produced first-half threats, while forward Alanna Colbert led the second-half push with three chances.
Cornell now turns its attention to Ivy League play, opening conference action at home against Columbia on Saturday, September 20, at 1 p.m. at Berman Field.
