Man charged after fight and struggle with deputies in Conquest: Released after arrest

Deputies say a man was arrested earlier this month in the Town of Conquest after resisting arrest during an investigation into a reported fight.

The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office says 30-year-old Shawn M. Farrell of Butler was taken into custody on September 2 around 10:15 p.m.

Deputies responded to Spring Lake Road for a disturbance and learned that Farrell had an active arrest warrant out of Onondaga County. While attempting to arrest him, a brief struggle occurred.

Farrell was charged with resisting arrest, a misdemeanor. He was processed and issued a court appearance ticket for Conquest Town Court on September 16.

He was later turned over to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office on their warrant.
