State police renew search in Michele Harris case

Two dozen years after Michele Harris vanished, New York State Police say they’re still actively working to solve the case.

Harris, a mother from Tioga County, was last seen on September 11, 2001. Despite years of investigation, her whereabouts remain unknown.

State Police announced this week they’ll conduct new evidence searches in the coming weeks as part of their ongoing investigation. Investigators say they’re reviewing all available leads and are committed to finding answers.

While a private reward and tip line has gained attention, police clarified they’re not connected to it — and haven’t received any information from it.

“We will not stop seeking justice for Michele Harris and her loved ones,” said Captain Lucas J. Anthony, head of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation for Troop C.

Anyone with information is urged to call the official tip line at (607) 561-7400 or email [email protected].
