Deputies arrested a woman early Thursday after finding her asleep and improperly clothed inside a parked car at a Byrne Dairy in Canandaigua.
Kathleen P. Ayers, 40, was taken into custody around 2:17 a.m. after deputies responded to a 911 call for a welfare check at the store on County Road 50.
According to investigators, Ayers was found in the driver’s seat engaged in a lewd act and appeared to be under the influence. Deputies say they discovered a large quantity of suspected cocaine and crack cocaine, along with two other controlled substances.
She also had an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle and was driving with a suspended New York State license, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
Ayers now faces multiple charges, including:
- Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree
- Criminal possession in the fourth and seventh degrees (2 counts)
- Aggravated unlicensed operation
- Unlicensed operation
- Possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a vehicle
She was transported to the Ontario County Jail and arraigned on the charges later that morning.
