$13M plan targets century-old bridges in Cayuga County

Two crumbling, 110-year-old bridges in Cayuga County are finally set for replacement, according to The Citizen. The state DOT unveiled a $13 million project to rebuild the Route 104A spans over Sterling Creek and Sterling Valley Creek, both rated in poor condition.

The new bridges will include wider lanes, shoulders, and better pedestrian access. Construction is expected to begin in 2027, with detours planned during the work.

A public meeting is set for Sept. 16 at Sterling Town Hall, where residents can review the plans and speak with DOT officials.
