Hundreds of walkers — and a few dogs — are expected to fill Pittsford’s streets and canal path on October 5 for the 14th annual Positively Pink in Pittsford Walk.
The event raises emergency funds for breast cancer patients across 13 counties in the Finger Lakes region. Embrace Your Sisters, the nonprofit behind the walk, hopes to raise $25,000 this year.
Helping pay the daily bills

Since launching 19 years ago, Embrace Your Sisters has raised more than $700,000 to help people in treatment cover daily living expenses like rent, utilities, and groceries.
The nonprofit serves patients in Allegany, Cayuga, Chemung, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, Wayne, and Yates counties.
Walk details and registration info
Check-in and same-day registration begin at 9 a.m. in the Pittsford Sutherland High School parking lot. The walk starts at 10 a.m. and follows a 1.8-mile route through residential Pittsford and along the Erie Canal.
Anyone who raises $30 or more will receive a walk t-shirt. Individuals, families, work teams, and friend groups are all welcome — as are dogs. Organizers encourage everyone to show off their pink spirit.

All-volunteer effort, all local impact
Embrace Your Sisters is entirely volunteer-run. In addition to financial support, the nonprofit offers education and resources to help people navigate their breast cancer journey.
