The 48-room hotel, dating back to 1920, continues to operate while its bar and restaurant await a liquor license before reopening. Patel, who owns several hotels in New York and Pennsylvania, says only minor design updates are planned.

The Gould has changed hands multiple times over the decades and briefly operated under the name “The Clarence Hotel” in homage to It’s a Wonderful Life.
