The Seneca County Water and Sewer Authority is set to hold its next regular meeting on Thursday, August 21 at 5:30 p.m., and several key decisions are on the table.
Board members will consider authorizing new legal service contracts and appointing a new board secretary following a recent resignation. The meeting will take place at the County Office Building in the Board of Supervisors meeting room.
One of the top items is a resolution to approve legal service agreements with attorney Michael Howard and the firm Bond, Schoeneck & King. According to the agenda, both have experience working with public utilities and agencies across New York State. The board is expected to vote on a resolution giving the acting executive director authority to finalize those contracts.
Board members will also appoint a new secretary, after Faith Smith stepped down last month. Diana Smith of MRB Group is expected to help guide that process.
Looking ahead, the board will discuss plans for a September meeting with leaders from the Village of Waterloo. The purpose of that meeting will be to explore shared goals and possible coordination between the village and the authority.
Executive Director Dan Schmalzel is also scheduled to provide an update, and board members may raise additional topics under “other business.”
The next regular meeting is scheduled for September 18.
