UR Medicine Thompson Health is once again getting national recognition—this time as one of the country’s top community hospitals.
Becker’s Hospital Review included the Canandaigua-based health system on its 2025 list of “100 Great Community Hospitals.” The list is curated using nominations, ratings, and other insights—no hospitals can pay to be included.
A repeat honor for the Canandaigua hospital
This marks the second time Thompson has made the list. The first was in 2023.
Becker’s, a leading medical industry publication, also gave recent individual honors to two of the hospital’s top executives. CFO Mark Prunoske was named to the list of “Hospital and Health System CFOs to Know,” and President/CEO Michael F. Stapleton, Jr. was recognized as one of the top community hospital leaders nationwide.
Earlier this year, Thompson was also featured on Becker’s “150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare” for the eighth time.
